College Guide for Students With Learning Disabilities . The National Center for Learning Disabilities reported in 2014 that among high school students with learning disabilities, 54% planned to attend a two-year or four-year college. Another 43% intended to complete a vocational training course. This is why LD programs at traditional or mainstream institutions may be effective for quite a few neurodiverse students, but a dedicated LD model like at Landmark College (LC) is optimal for success. Seek evidence that the institution understands and incorporates elements of universal design for learning (UDL) into their curriculum.

It's about time someone compiled this kind of information for students looking for colleges and universities that offer the appropriate learning program for them. Not only does the student with a learning disability find comprehensive, valuable information concerning programs offered at 100's of colleges and universities, but they also gain a confidence that there ARE choices of colleges geared to them and to how they specifically learn. A student with a learning disability, no matter how bright he/she is, often feels that they will have to struggle through their college years because they do not learn the way the majority of students learn, and that colleges just cannot help them. With Aliza's comprehensive research, these students will easily access several colleges with the appropriate programs for their own kind of learning, and know that they will find the right school for their college years. Bravo, Ms. Sokolow!

I'm a High School junior suffering from various Learning Disabilities...This CD was just recommended to me by my college counselor. After looking though the various links on the CD, I've begun to contact Learning Disability directors at some of the schools I'm interested in and have found out so much that I didn't realize was available to me...The CD has given me a lot of confidence and now I feel that I'm on the same level as my friends applying to colleges who don't have learning disabilities...I really recommend this CD to students in my position, it's really worth it!!!

Applying to college can be hard enough as it is, but having a learning disability makes it even more difficult. Finding the right school along with finding a school with a good learning disability program may seem impossible, but is much, much more feasible with Sokolow's guide. This compendium of information is incredibly detailed and goes above and beyond all expectations imagined. With this guide, life is much easier and I offer a personal thanks to Sokolow for her superb college guide.

I am senior in high school, who suffers from adhd, as well as many other forms of learning disabilities. After reading the great comments on Aliza J Sokolow's work, i decided that i would give it a shot. Not only did it not help me in anyway, after using the information and applying it to my own college experience, my acceptance was revoked. Now having no options for a college anywhere, i am working a 12 to 8 job at Mcdonalds as a fry tosser (Though my manager says that my work has been great and if i keep it up i will be promoted to intercom drive through attendant within a month) My life is over....Enjoy the Book.

This is a fantastic resource for college bound high school students. I like the way the CD is organized - by state & alphabetically. I am also impressed with the volume of information available to college bound students with learning difficulties.
College counselors around the country will benefit from this resource.
