Wrath of the Lion is a 1964 thriller novel by Jack Higgins. Pretty good story, but as I read a book I try to envision in my mind the story as it happens. There were times I had to re-read sections to get exactly what was happening. Sometimes the "polish" in his descriptions were not there for me and I had to simply keep reading until the story came bak together. Still, with my stumbling over sections, it is still a story worth reading, it's just not real typical of what you expect when you read Jack Higgins.

Gripping characters and story, just like all the other Jack Higgins books I have read. Can't go wrong with this author.

But for the sloppy editing of the electronic version. I am sure the original paperback from 1964 did not have these errors - taught for taut and poised for paused to name a couple. So I am immersed in the story and a bad homonym rolls in and causes the brain to say what?? And I am sitting there holding the Kindle. And it ended a little abruptly for me. But it was an excellent thrill ride while it lasted - classic Higgins.

As was the case with his early works, Higgins tells a good tale; however, it lacks the polish or his later, most mature stories.

The story line for this novel is just, but short, and therefore needs much embellishment.

Overall not one of Jack Higgins better book, but I did enjoy reading it. Did not like the ending.

ok
This book is interesting in it's history for me because I was a submariner. The novel as a work for reading seemed to be disjointed as it seemed to bounce through history and places.
