This is the third book in the Helsinki Homicide series by Jarkko Sipila.

Suhonen is a Violent Crimes Unit detective in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Unlike many other Nordic crime fiction detectives, the main character doesn't share much of his personal life or political beliefs with the reader. He lives and breathes his job, works the street for intel, and allows us to follow him through this believable and enjoyable police procedural.

I agree with other reviewers: it is puzzling that more books haven't been translated into English. Jarkko Sipila delivers good stories on par with Henning Mankell's police procedurals. I would love to read more of his books!

Order of the books that have been translated into English so far, by year of publication:
1. Cold Trail
2. Nothing but the Truth
3. Against the Wall
4. Vengeance

What is it about Scandinavia and Iceland that produces the likes of Wahloo and Sjowell, Adler-Olsen, Jo Nesbo, Henning Mankell, Jarkko Sipila, James Thompson and a few others? Against The Wall was entertaining, held my interest throughout with engaging characters and a good plot and was funny at times too. I'm going to read the whole Helsinki Homicide. At $3 each on Amazon the books are a bargain.

I enjoyed this, but I admit to having some problems with keeping the characters straight due to the Norwegian names. One of the reasons I read it was to become more familiar with same, so I still liked it. The plot was not exceptional, but the character development kept me going.
Kanek
This book is written in English. I am Finnish, but do not speak the language, I am however familiar with Helsinki by family stories and looking up about the city on line. I was curious due to my own history and thought I could learn more about the city, and I did.
I like mysteries and thought this was a good one.
I would recommend it, certainly if, you have any interest in Finland.
The service I received was very good.
Kazigrel
Well paced and laced with interlocking criminal activity. Crafty detective. I liked it. Strictly police detective business. No fluff. Good.
TheFresh
Just when I'd got familiar with Stockholm's criminal geography became hooked on this Helsinki police thriller. All of Scandinavia seems to be a dangerous, violent place filled with hardened criminals and vicious felons. Next vacation I'm going somewhere safer, like inner city Lagos or Karachi.
Westened
Intriguing, interesting
The story moved quickly, the characters were believable , maybe a little more character development would be my preference, the ending was sort of unexpected. I liked it, and I enjoyed reading it, I will read the rest of Sipila's books.
