Paradise Falls book It is more than just a mystery as it explores blended families and children of blended marriages. The book kept me interested

A stepson who knows more than he's telling  . Paradise Falls opens with the disappearance of Caitlin Whittingly, a 15 year old sophomore. The quiet town of Paradise Falls is stunned as this is the 2nd disappearance of a high school girl within months and the first girl has yet to be located. It is more than just a mystery as it explores blended families and children of blended marriages. The book kept me interested. But similar to another reader, I found the ending weak and contrived.

A stepson who knows more than he's telling. A detective with her own tragic past  . Paradise Falls is the riveting and provocative tale of a family torn apart by divided loyalties and a dedicated detective who meets her worst fears head on. The razor sharp twists and turns will hold readers captive until its final, explosive conclusion.

Paradise Falls is a weekly soap opera television series which aired nationally on the Showcase channel in Canada, starting in 2001. It was filmed in the summer cottage community of Muskoka, Ontario. Like many major American soap operas, sex is a dominant component of the storylines, although more explicit in nature. The show's open approach to sexual and homosexual themes caused reruns of the show to be carried on the Here! TV network in the United States, which targets gay and lesbian viewers.

First of all I would like to say that though the plot is is unnerving the book is well written and the characters are perceived as real people facing grave probs. The inter-family relations between former couples and now divorcees are complicated and true to life. The eternal problem: parents-children is well developed. The police are far from being dumb. So on the whole it IS a good book but for one aspect: I wish the victims were older. It is not easy to read some parts of the book. I gave the book 4 stars for the smooth writing and suspense. But still I wouldn't recommend it to overemotional sensitive people.

Oh Jonnie Jacobs (a previous English teacher; lawyer) writes great trial stories. She is also another favorite. All her books are page turners. I have all of her 15 (or 16) books. I continue to reread them.

I like to finish a book and feel as if I have walked in the shoes of the characters. Me. Jacob's characters are real and believable. The story centers around interpersonal relationships in families and deals with the topic of child abduction and murder. I was as clueless as the police were for most of the book...I moved from suspecting first one person and then another; however, the ending was a complete surprise to me....and I read a LOT of mystery/thriller novels!

I like the writer Jonnie. She writes simple stories and her language is very easy to follow. She is no Michael Connelly or Sue Grafton. Unlike Kinzy Milhone of ABC fame her main character is a lawyer but this one is an independent book.
The main character is flawed with a past and there are lot of twists and turns all your typical bullet points for writing a thriller. I am not a big fan of the ending but overall it was a fast read and did not strain my brains too much

This book had everything I wanted - a strong female, with a soft section of heart; twists & turns to keep you from putting it down to do something you needed to be doing (dinner prep, groceries).
I couldn't put it down for long and now need to go back over my book lists to see if I have read all of Jonnie Jacobs other books!

Great book, love Jonnie Jacobs books. All I have read I have really enjoyed, hard to put down.

this was one of the best books I have read in a longtime. I couldn't wait to find out the outcome. I didn't skip a word of the book. I wish there were more of her books currently available. I have read some bother books previously and they were good too
If you haven't read Jonnie Jacobs you;ve missed a great read. This is a well crafted book and it holds your interest. I am a fan of all her books and I sure wish I could write like her. The characters are well drawn and almost come alive. Don't miss this book, you'll enjoy it.
