Richard Parker and Mary Parker are fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are the parents of Peter Parker, the superhero known as Spider-Man. Well done. Nice bridge to other future works. There are some moments of brilliance and insight, then it slides back into mediocrity. As a culmination of the"Temple Islands Series" it does a credible job of cleaning up any loose ends. There is no need for further books, if the author chooses to stop here.

I got hooked from volume 1, the Black Horseman, and stayed up late several nights in a row going through volume 2 Assassin of the Heart and this, the third volume. I found myself thinking about the characters and their situation and eagerly dove back into this alternate world. The plot is well-woven, the main characters grow through the series. The writing is very good. Definitely worth reading. My only criticism is that the author consistently misuses "passed" and "past" - in almost every case, these two words should be interchanged. The major plot lines appear to be well wrapped up by the end of this volume, except for a sudden development at the very end, which I presume launches the 4th volume. Sadly, the 4th volume is not yet released.

Spellbinding writing. This multi talented writer manages to capture our imagination over and over. Can't wait to read his next sequel!!
