I'd consider it a must-have for running a RotRL campaign, if you use maps & minis but don't want to spend a fortune. The cardboard stock is high quality, and should last for a while. The artwork is excellent. I have a couple small gripes that prevent it from getting 5 stars:

1) Using these requires the additional purchase of the Bestiary Box. Even though the figures are advertised with the black plastic bases, these pawns do not come with any. Also, if you want to stage larger fights you will need additional monsters from the Bestiary Box to do so.

2) Key missing characters/monsters. The pawns that come with this are pretty comprehensive in covering what your players will be facing over the course of the AP, but there are omissions. I've had to pull barghests, skeletons and many other mobs out of the Bestiary Box to fill out the wildlife. My biggest complaint here is the omission of Rune Giants. They are key to several battles later in the series, and are not included here. This despite the fact that they are iconic monsters from this AP, with artwork of them scattered all throughout the various hardcover books. I can't help but feel this was intentional to get people to buy the plastic Rune Giant mini you find in hobby stores for $40.

I'll start off by saying Pathfinder Is a great game and I love the system.
As I am running the Rise of the Runelords adventure path, this has been indispensable to me and my players.
To me and my players it gives a bit of life to the npcs and monsters big and small. I can describe what Aldern Foxglove and the Skinsaw man look like it's another to see him accurately depicted is another.
If i have to say one bad thing about this it would be that some of the Character Art is too large for the cut out and it gets a bit cut off when punched out. Oh and there doesn't seem to be any size bigger than huge which is a tad odd but If that's the only complaints I can come up with; Frankly it deserve its 5 Stars I have given it.

This set is based on a popular adventure path, that I do not own. However, it is nice to see some pawns match up with my Rise of the Runelords Face Cards! There are some repeats between this and the Bestiary Box, and the Skulls and Shackles set, but for the most part they are things that are useful in groups. I am especially happy with the huge variety of goblins! Huzzah!

There are also a boat-load of giants and ogres, and yet another veritible swarm of rat swarms. Also, some cool-looking NPC's. This is probably my favorite set so far.

As with the other sets the medium pawns are much taller than medium minis. And as with Skulls & Shackles, you will have to buy extra bases or use the ones with the bestiary box.

I have about 36 minis out of the entire RotRL mini series and an additional 1,900 D&D plastic minis but what makes this pawn set so special is having great representations of key NPCs. I will be running this campaign after I am through running Pathfinder's Skulls & Shackles campaign. And speaking of that... I can't wait for the release of the pawns for that adventure!

For GMs on a budget or fans of the gameI highly recommend this product!
Phobism
These are very useful when running Rise of the Runelords. Only problem is that you need a heck of a lot more stands. I suggest just ordering off market ones (just type in "Card Stands" any you can get like 50 for $10). They are missing some monsters. For example, in the first module, they were missing skeletons, zombies, a vargouille and the main boss, a quasit. But, the vast percentage of monsters were in the set. They are sturdy and very useful.
Simple
As others have said the biggest complaint was no bases. You do not need to purchase the bases in the bestiary box. Just go to Piazos website and purchase a bag of bases there for a couple of bucks with shipping. No need to purchase a nearly fifty dollar box of pawns just to get the bases.

Ok there are most NPCs in this set, found a couple mentioned in the adventure not shown in this box. Its ok I just used others or found photos on the web.

Overall its a great addition to the adventure path Rise of the Runelords!

Got these for when I ran the RotR adventure path last year. They have held up really well, and was a great alternative to buying miniatures. The reason I am giving this 3 stars though is because you need to buy the Bestiary box's in order to get the bases that work with these, and also for the fact that not every NPC/Monster from RotR was included with it, such as Erylium from book 1, or the hermit crab/tangletooth which defeats the purpose of this.
Pathfinder pawns provide a very budget-conscious alternative to using painted miniatures for an RPG campaign, and this fills out a lot of needs for a collection. There are goblins aplenty for low-level campaigns, which is great because the Bestiary Box is a little short on them. Also between this expansion and the Bestiary Box, you should have more than enough giants to get you through a campaign without trouble. And if you're running the actual Rise of the Runelords adventure path, this set becomes even better, although it doesn't have pawns for quite everything.

In addition to the quality of the product, I was pleased by how quickly my purchase arrived, a full week ahead of the estimated delivery time.
