The Firstborn trilogy is fantasy done right. Raine Thomas is the award-winning author of bestselling Young Adult and NewAdult fiction. She understands what makes people tick, and that is evident in her skillful mastery of CK's story. As you follow all the cousins to their conclusion of their fight against power hungry Estilorians, you come to see the strength in community, camaraderie and family.

is an incredible author who has breathed life into the sometimes redundant genre of Young Adult literature. Lover of Paranormal. To be honest, I didn't love the first two the way I did the Daughters of Saraquel, but Clara Kate won me over. If you're picky about writing style and the snobbish sort to demand perfection, then perhaps these books aren't for you (but why are you reading YA anyway?)

December 27, 2012 By Raine Thomas. It’s hard to believe that the second Estilorian trilogy is coming to an end. After six books and a short story, I’ve grown so attached to these characters and their world

This universe is so beyond anything I've ever imagined and I pray and dream that they'll make a movie out of this series because it's that good.
What the hell are you doing reading the reviews. Buy it! But wait..... only if you've read the other books, because this is not a stand alone book. Jeeeze! You really need to start at 'Becoming.' That's where the magic starts.
The characters are so realistic, given us a real vibe for the world they live in. The plot over all is amazing.
The writing style is vivid and descriptive and enchanting.
Raine thomas has got me captivated from the first book and knowing that Gabriel and Amber are the parents of Clara Kate is like POOF mind blowing amazing!

I am mourning over finishing these two AMAZING Raine Thomas trilogies in a row. They were amazing and now I feel...lost without more of them to read.
She has a third series, Ascendant series, so I was excited thinking I would get more of those amazing characters and this world she created, but no, it's all new characters and I'm heartbroken and I want them back! I need CLOSURE.... #NerdGirlProblems
I feel like this Firstborn series moved too fast, I didn't get enough of my beloved sisters and their avowed, but their children are just as amazing, if not more. *Spoiler* Quincy and Sophia creep me out a bit at first, I mean, he delivered her and saw her as a baby and then...well, I got over it, I think..
The rest of it was amazing, I know I said that already, but seriously..I need more. Can we have some more novellas or something? I'm mourning the loss of the entire world that was created...What about some novellas (I detest novellas but I'm desperate here) of more of the elders finding their emotions, and Penelope and the story of the rogue mercesti group, how they came to be?

I think CK (Clara Kate) has the most heartrending story of all her Firstborn cousins', but as the book goes on, you find yourself cheering her on in ways you never expected! Raine Thomas' ability to pull emotion from you as the reader is profound. She understands what makes people tick, and that is evident in her skillful mastery of CK's story. As you follow all the cousins to their conclusion of their fight against power hungry Estilorians, you come to see the strength in community, camaraderie and family. Follow the stories of their parents in the Daughters of Saraqael Trilogy, Daughters of Saraqael Trilogyand The Prophecy, The Prophecy (An Estilorian Short Story)ending your journey with the cousins that are Firstborn. Having read all six of the Estilorians books, I can genuinely say I'm a fan. Of the First Born books, Elder is my favorite!
I was so pleased with how the trilogy wound out, and Clara Kate's love life was my favorite.
To be honest, I didn't love the first two the way I did the Daughters of Saraquel, but Clara Kate won me over.
If you're picky about writing style and the snobbish sort to demand perfection, then perhaps these books aren't for you (but why are you reading YA anyway?)
But if you enjoy a good plot driven story...enjoy All of Raine's work. I have. I read it in a day after all...the very day it came out :)

I loved this book. It had several spots in the end that had me near tears, but they were tears of happiness or tears of pride. I definitely recommend reading these books in order. (daughters of saraqael and then this trilogy) I would have missed so much If I read this one first. There are so many interesting characters and I enjoyed getting to know each of them. They each have unique personalities and I've loved all of their stories. The world created for these characters is truly original. The love stories are among my very favorite!

The Estilorian series are wonderful. This wraps everything up nicely. I can't say I'm happy that it's finished, and I hope I'll be pleasantly surprised again with a new Estilorean series. Raine Thomas's expert storytelling keeps my attention and makes me feel good. The romance isn't too much, the plot is just enough for this length, and I know that all my questions will be answered by the end of the series. It doesn't hurt that the releases dates are fairly close together, either.
This series, like the Daughters of Seraquel, is a MUST READ!!

I don't understand why these books aren't at the top of every list and on the tip of every tongue. These are amazing novels. I love the world Raine Thomas has created. I hope that they keep going! If you are reading for these for the first time I would suggest starting at the beginning though with Becoming (Daughters of Saraquel 1). This last book in the firstborn trilogy was phenomenal! I love the strong characters and the connection that they have to one another. There is very real sense of family in this book which is inspiring. I think these novels are the best I've read in a very long time.
I read and enjoyed this entire series of books about the Estilorians. This book, the final one, was a great ending to the series. Elder has elements of fantasy, drama, romance, and action packed into the story. It answered every possible question and tied up every loose end in the plot of the entire series and I could truly feel it was the final of the series. This author has a very imaginative writing style that keeps you interested in the entire story. The book was well written with a solid plot and characterization. I would recommend any of the Estilorian books to anyone who enjoys fantasy and romance. I look forward to what new worls this author comes up with next.
