It has been years since I last read a Victoria Holt novel-and then that opinion was that of any teenage girl desperate for a little darkly romantic fluff. And hey, it still is. That's how Ms. Holt intended it to be and that is why her large assortment of novels are so popular.

I fell in love with Victoria Holt books the first time I read one along with her other authors that she goes by every book that she has ever written has just been amazing I would definitely recommend that I do recommend it to anybody who loves to read.

Seven for a Secret book. Books written by Victoria Holt are so cheesy, but sometimes that's exactly what you need. I've read a loooot of her books when I was 14/15 years ol. .that was the last time I've read them. I absolutely loved them at the time.

I imagined she did not feel it worth the effort to come and see us, and my mother certainly thought the journey to Wiltshire too arduous for her, particularly when the result would be a none-too-felicitous encounter with Aunt Sophie.

Very soon after I went to live with my Aunt Sophie, I became acquainted with the strange sisters, Lucy and Flora Lane, and because of what I discovered, for ever after I called their cottage The House of the Seven Magpies. I imagined she did not feel it worth the effort to come and see us, and my mother certainly thought the journey to Wiltshire too arduous for her, particularly when the result would be a none-too-felicitous encounter with Aunt Sophie. Aunt Sophie was almost a stranger to me in those early days. My mother and Aunt Sophie, though sisters, were as unlike each other as any two people could be.

We often talked far into the night until we fell asleep. We had both had frightening experiences with her uncle and we could not at first bear to talk of it.

We often talked far into the night until we fell asleep mention what had happened; but I could not get it out of my mind. One night Rachel said to me: Freddi. think 1 must be very wicked. Well, he did it himself. I thought he was so sure about everything

But as she grew from child to woman, she became powerless against her love for the enigmatic Crispin Tamarisk, and drawn more closely to his family's secrets and curses that seemed directed to her.

My father’s lips twitched as they did for my mother; it meant he wanted to laugh but felt it was undignified for a Major to do so. He had gained his majority since my birth and extra dignity with it.

All of this Author's books are excellent. She also writes under another name, Phillipa Carrt, whose novels are also absolutely awesome.I am on my second time around with the novels under both names.

I have read all of Victoria Holts books and this is by far the best! The story is very captivating and you will neaver EVER guess what the seacret that Chrispin has is, or that it is conected to the murder! I would definitly by this book! This book kept me glued, especially the first part. My few thoughts would be, however, that Crispin's character did not seem consistent. Also, felt that some secrets that were kept by the main players in this book were, no doubt, unethical and should have involved disclosure to other family members, especially (Hard to give details without letting out spoiling the punches).
It was interesting to read about the girls' foreign journeys, but did those chapters really have to be in this book? Seemed to be pushed in to create an extra chapter or two.
Nevertheless, a quick enjoyable read, though left somewhat empty at the end.

That's how Ms. Holt intended it to be and that is why her large assortment of novels are so popular. And that's that. If you want suspense, intrigue, and romance minus all the sex and plus some interesting characters, this is fun."Seven for a Secret" holds all the great stuff: orphans who grow up together despite romantic triangles, sexy brooding heroes, and lots of murder.I liked the romance, but it's the mystery that intrigued me. And I guess I'm a sucker for all these feminist girls stuck in a Victorian world.Suspenseful fluffy goodness at its best.
