The National Archaeological Museum in Athens houses some of the most important. However, I must admit I was disappointed by the exhibit of items from Akrotiri. All references I have found say that fresco is in this museum, but I could not find it and the staff person I asked didn't know anything about it. Did I miss something? Other than that, I loved everything else. The archaic sculpture collection is superb, along with Mycenean objects and painted ceramics.
