False charges of racial profiling threaten to obliterate the crime-fighting gains of the last decade, especially in America's inner cities.

False charges of racial profiling threaten to obliterate the crime-fighting gains of the last decade, especially in America's inner cities. This is the message of Heather Mac Donald's new book, in which she brings her special brand of tough and honest journalism to the current war against the police. The anti-profiling crusade, she charges, thrives on an ignorance of policing and a willful blindness to the demographics of crime

This is how Heather MacDonald feels in the book Are Cops Racist? Heather MacDonald has done a wonderful job on stating the facts and making everything plain, but I still have mixed emotions on the whole ideal of racial profiling. I agree with her in so many ways like when she says that people claim racial profiling but don’t look at the crime rate. There are a lot of crimes that are committed by the African American and Hispanic community and that are why there are an excessive amounts of arrest.

I've followed Heather Macdonalds wonderful writing in the city journal. Heather MacDonald's Are Cops Racist? maintains that opposition to racial profiling threatens to erode crime-fighting gains of the last decade. Chapters show how this profiling has led to increased insights on the demographics of crime and criminals - and chapters consider how anti-profiling lobbying produces harmful results for blacks and all peoples.

This is a well-written and informative book. The author debunks the claims of BLM and other hysterical leftists agitators with specific facts and data regarding interaction between the cops and lawless (mostly black) citizens. I recommend it for those who are interested in the truth about the current conflict between criminal blacks and those tasked with enforcing our laws and trying to provide a safe environment for law abiding residents of strife ridden American cities - who are, co-incidentally, mostly black. She also documents the waste of public funds for law enforcement (LE) caused by over-burdening police departments with useless and redundant reporting/paperwork/red-tape concerning LE encounters with blacks and other minorities that have been instituted at the insistence of anti-LE factions.

Impeccable scholarship buttresses a dispassionate and balanced argument that the racist-cop narrative is fundamentally flawed.

MacDonald posits the idea that even if there are racist cops there is not enough of them to change the statistical data. We should profile, if race is part of the data. If you are looking for a South American Cartel you would not want to look for an Asian suspect. If a citizen files a complaint, the police should respond. That citizen is going to be living somewhere in particular not is some Disney world of racial integration. Black Lives Matter, (BLM}) is going to claim racism if the complaint comes from a negro, or id's the offender as negro. BLM is unable to accept the report as a report. and a legitimate demand that the police should be required to respond Negro's commit most of the crimes. This was not the case in the past. Mac Donald does not try to explain this change, only htat the data has changed. The change in data has driven the Police response, not race. Racism does not explain the change in data, and the police did not cause the change.
Very interesting and eye opening. Explains the truth about this topic.
