One of the better text books I've been assigned, leading groups next week will definitely determine the "real life quality" quotient. **Update: After having an internship for 4 months revolving around teaching SMI day treatment groups I can definitely say that the book helped prepare me, but it can't teach you all of the things you will learn on your feet.**

I bought this book for my Social Work Practice 2 class and honestly it is one of the better textbooks I've used for college thus far. The points are made clear and the lists they put throughout the books are very helpful for organizing my thoughts and for quick reference during class discussions! If you wanted a book for your personal repertoire of references or for a class, this is the one.

It should have been in the description that this "book" is actually not a bound book, but rather 3-hole punched loose pages that you have to put into a binder. If that's what "A La Carte Edition" means, then you need to define that for people. I've been a student for many years and have never heard the term with regard to a textbook. Now I have to buy a binder as well to carry it to class in.

Taught me what I needed to know for my class! Perhaps it was because it was the required course text... Kindle books are so much better than the regular text books. You can search the whole book for a certain term in seconds, and if you forget it at home you can still get access to the book on the phone kindle app.
Early Waffle
This is the book I needed for my class, but I returned it because it was for a 3-ring binder and I missed that when I ordered the item.
Original
It is a basic textbook about leading groups and group participation. It has some helpful charts and maps out certain processes from forming to concluding groups.

Good book.
Bought for a graduate program. An enjoyable read; and I can't say that about all my grad school texts.
