This book is a good read and Joe Dogs' recipes are easy to follow and simple to make. So far I have tried most of them and the result was "gangsta" cooking. This book is good, it does give details of rackets and all the moves that the guys in south florida were making, But if you read this book really well, you notice that Joe dogs was more of their Bitch then a guy they were willing to make a MADE MAN. By reading this book I can that they had no real respect for him, and only dealed with him because he lived down there and it made it easy for them to their business that way, during the hole book the mobsters were always flying back and forth to and from New York.

This story is just phenomenal. You really get a great window into mafia activity in Florida particularly the gambling activity during its peak in the 1970's and early 1980's. Joe Dogs is courted by the Colombo family, but continues to work with made man Tony Agro of the Gambino's. Unfortunately, for him when he doesn't repay a loan he gets his face bashed in by Agro and another thug in a pizzeria. It's hard to imagine, but Joe Dogs manages to worm his way back into the mob, but this time with the FBI fully supporting him beginning with repayment of his loan. In a major operation, he winds up taking down several big fish in the family and of course his capo Tony Agro. This is the best mob book that didn't become a movie. Without question hands down. I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves reading about the Mafia.

I have read a number of mob books, and this one is my favorite thus far. It even beats out the revered favorites 'Wiseguy' and 'Underboss', and the little known diamond in the rough 'Takedown'; all stellar reads. The book is full of sex, violence, and intriguing real world events told from a first person perspective. I wasn't able to put the book down, it is well written and flows nicely, and it frequently humorous. The book and its tales (especially of Joe's being a 'whoremaster') are fun and upbeat!

Even the Family advisor did'nt like hime (joe N Gallo) and had him beat down(this is not good). The way Tom Argo talked and treated hime told me that, to them he was just a clown they were using to make a buck and would never make a MADE MAN.

Good book but more like spider from goodfellas!!

I bought this book a while back from a used book dealer. Little did I expect to get a book signed by the author with a letter to the previous owner of this book who acually knew Joe Dogs in person! I give this book two thumbs way up!

I love the book that I wrote. It's interesting, True, and exciting. I'm sure some day someone will make a movie of it. I probably won't be here as I'm well into my eighties now, but my children, Grand children, and friends will enjoy it.

One of the best mob stories I've ever read. Honestly, I haven't read many but this book was awesome. The characters leap off of the page. Another great book that should be turned into a movie.
Joe comes across as honest and humorous. This one is worth your time.
