One of Beatrix’s earliest stories, that of Peter Rabbit, came from a picture letter originally sent to Annie Moore’s son Noel. After being rejected by several publishers, Beatrix decided to publish The Tale of Peter Rabbit herself, printing an initial 250 copies for family and friends in December 1901. My wife and I have enjoyed reading the tales of Peter Rabbit and his friends for many years to our Grand children and collected many books about their adventures. We found the Judy Taylor biography to be an excellent and very well written presentation about Ms. Potter's life and love of her country life.

The illustrations and photographs make Judy Taylor's BEATRIX POTTER a wonderful read. I first went through the book and read the capitations for all the illustrations and then went back to read the narrative.
Mrs. Hellis as Beatrix Potter preferred to be know was a remarkable woman who lived in her own time. For ten years she produced a body of work that will remain the mainstay of childhood.
Ms. Taylor brings this unique personality to life for the legions of fans around the world.
