He was once a member of the New Jersey Lottery Commission and was a life-long member of the Ocean Cruising Club following a passage from Bermuda to the Azores in 1976 aboard his 32-foot sailboat Unlikely V, an event listed first on his own long list of accomplishments. Edward Marshall Boehm (August 21, 1913 – January 29, 1969) was an American figurative expressionist sculptor, known for his porcelain figures of birds and other wildlife. Boehm explained his choice of porcelain as the medium for his art as follows: "Porcelain is a permanent creation. If properly processed and fired, its colors will never change; and it can be subjected to extreme temperatures without damage.
Dec 03, 2008 Clive Lincoln rated it it was amazing. Recommends it for: Any collectors of porcelain. A most interesting book on the processes involved in the creation of porcelain sculptures and the life of this most remarkable human being.
