THE CATHOLIC CHURCH is the world's largest, and Christianity's oldest, religious body. Her one billion members inhabit the width and breadth of the earth, comprising almost one-fifth of the total human population. She is far and away the most popular religious concept the world has ever known. The result is incomplete and distorted information. Why doesn't the Catholic Church also baptize by total immersion instead of by pouring on the head? Why does the Catholic Church baptize infants, who have no understanding of what is taking place? Why is the Catholic Church opposed to birth control?

The Catholic Church is an ancient religious institution boasting over a billion members worldwide. As such, Catholicism is the largest Christian ecclesiastical body in the world. Where did the Roman Catholic Church come from? The Church at Rome, which would later develop into what we know as Roman Catholicism, was started in the apostolic times (circa AD 35). Although we do not have records of the first Christian missionaries to Rome, it is obvious that a church existed there as the New Testament Scriptures were being written. St. Paul himself wrote an epistle to the church at Rome, and the Book of Acts records some of his dealings there. Clement of Rome (ca.

This book provides the answers to 34 questions commonly asked about the Church. This book gives short and pithy answers to questions asked of Catholics on a regular basis by evangelical and fundamentalist Christians. The answers are stock answers and are unlikely to convince anyone who has ever asked these questions of a knowledgeable Catholic before. But it does not intend to give new insights to age old questions, but rather to provide answers to those honestly seeking answers who have never asked them before.
