She has fabulous friends in Whitney and Charisse, and since they are constantly feuding she has become the social equivalent of Switzerland as of late. All seems right in her world...if only she could get Cameron to stop dragging his feet about thoughts/talk of marriage. Soon Taylor finds herself facing a health crisis, the conclusion of which will reveal shockings truths about her relationships and those closest to her.

With the edge-of-your seat reading that we have become accustomed to receiving from Ms. Roby, this one does not disappoint. Readers will be shocked and intrigued until the very last page.

Risky Strong Dromedary

I first read this book many years ago and loved it. I often wondered about Taylor, Whitney and Charisse and what their stories would be today which made me pick it back up and read it again. I have to say, that it's even better reading it the second time around. The characters were a bit over the top, but that's classic Kimberla Lawson Roby. I'm hoping that she'll revisit these characters again in a sequel.

Truly a heartfelt real to life situations. Abuse, neglect as a child that goes over into adulthood, dealing with women issues within our health as well as dealing struggling for acceptance from family when you have been obese all of your life. Last but not least dealing with betrayal after thinking you are the only one in your fiance's life, only to find out he has a whole family, complette with wife and 2 kids. All levels that the average person can identify with. Enjoyed it from start to finish although there were periods of sadness at the same time.

Wow, what can I say that other reviewers haven't already said? This has to be by far her best work yet!! To have a novel that captures your attention within the first five pages is amazing! The book makes you feel as though you are sitting right there with the characters. This is book is not only thought provoking but really brings us into the mind of a "functioning" mentally ill woman who only practiced what she was taught (Charisse). Bravo to you Ms. Roby and hurry up with the next title.

Kimberla Lawson Roby is an excellent writer. I really love her books. I own all of her books exccept for "Love and Lies", (I plan on reading it later) Anyway the characters were realistic with real life issues. The topics discussed were serious issues that some women face today. There is a lesson to be learned from each character's lives. The author did at good job of introducing the characters to the readers. I was shocked at what happened towards the end. I could not believe what a particular character did even though they were capable of doing it. Then the other was not that suprising because their were clues throughout the book, but I was surprised at the extent of it. I recommend this book to anyone who want more than just a fairy tale. I would love to see a part two to this book as well.

I have not read the book completely because of the explicit sex scene in the first few chapeters. I am a Christian and I enjoy Christian fiction because its intersting and has a good message without all of the worldy, sinful content. This book just went a little too far. I am not a happy reader.
