I'm not one that has been much of the Romantic type of reader, and although I knew this book dealt with romance, I decided to take a chance on it anyway because I also love a great legal thriller. Well, I didn't get much legal in the book, but it is fair to say the love affair between DeAngelo Di Meglio and Peyton Mahoney was well worth the read.

When Peyton's girlfriends send her on a well deserved vacation, a break from her law firm, she had no idea she was being set up. There was a mysterious man who had planned to be at the exact resort Peyton was visiting. What Peyton also didn't know is that this man she would meet turned out to be her best friend's brother, Angelo, who had a real personal stake in the resort they both were staying at.

Angelo set out on a mission to claim his 'woman' and Peyton had no plans on being claimed by anyone, least of all, not the great looking Italian Hellion, Angelo.

I found Peyton's character a bit immature for an almost thirty-something woman, but she had some major issues to work through. If it was told to the reader once, it was mentioned a hundred times how good looking Angelo is. A bit of an overkill seeing as how I got that in the first few chapters that he was 'good looking as sin'! A term I absolutely loathe, but Ms. Jackson did the story justice. It turned out as I had expected it would, but I would have prefered more legal battle between the two lovers, but it wasn't that type of story. Regardless, it was well written with a bit of overkill on the descriptions of Angelo, but outside of that, I felt the story was pretty good.

Peyton and Angelo are romantically attracted to one another throughout the novel. However, Peyton has been hurt previously by a guy named Matthew Elton. Matthew's family are elite Bostons with money, money, money. However, the family welcomes only the so called right people in their family. Peyton does not meet their standards of quality.The emotional pain stays with Peyton for a long time almost killing the relationship with Angelo DeMeglio, an African-American Italian.

Angelo falls completely in love with Peyton. He desires her with every beat of his heart. When the time comes to voice the words I love you, Peyton is unable to say she loves Angelo. While reading the novel I thought about the fact that for some people it is possible to have wonderful moments of sexual intimacy without commitment. This type of relationship only leads to horrible heartache for one or both of the people involved.

I became angry with Peyton. I wanted her to grab Angelo before he gave up on her ever returning his love. I wanted to tell Peyton because one apple is rotten does not mean the whole tree of apples is rotten. While Peyton's feelings go up and down like a roller coaster her friends Mac and Sam stick with her trying to help her see the fine qualities in Angelo and his family. Peyton is learning the fact that giving love and receiving love is never easy. Each person comes with a little or a lot of baggage. The baggage has to be unpacked. By that I mean lovers must communicate, sharing their truths with one another which leads to more and more trust.

Then, there is the matter of time. It seems every person is packaged with their time clock. They have a certain amount of time to wait and a certain amount of time when they will feel it is time to give up and move on to a new relationship. In COURTING JUSTICE by BRENDA JACKSON, I could easily see the complications of love. However, the blissful love given and received from one another is worth all the misunderstandings. Peyton and Angelo also show the beauty of intimacy. When two people harmonize like a symphony it is a fairy tale come true. It is like a treasure chest filled with enough pleasure to last until their lives end. brendajackson

I have loved the Madaris Series from the very beginning. And I couldn't wait for this one. Angelo was a sexy, tough, and successful attorney. One who had his heart stolen by Peyton. Even though it took him awhile to admit it. Peyton is also a tough and successful attorney. Not to mention best friends with Angelo's sister Sam. But ghosts from her past are not allowing her t give in to the feelings that Angelo has sparked inside of her. She wants to believe that it is nothing but a physical attraction. But when the truth hits her and she realizes she is hopelessly in love will it be too late? Will the grudge she has been holding for years ruin her chance at true love?
I love Brenda Jackson. And her Madaris Series has become one of my favorites. To me though, this book was lacking something. Don't get me wrong. It was still a good read. But it didn't seem to have that drama and fire that her other novels possessed. It is worth the read though. You will enjoy it. And if there is another novel in this series I will definitely be getting it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this book by Brenda Jackson. I was waiting for Peyton and Angelo story and was very impressed with the story line Mrs. Jackson presented. Angelo waited for 2 years to start his pursuit of Peyton. He courted her slow and easy so that she could finally get to know the man behind the good looks, money and the playboy persona. I won't give away and details of the story, but I would take the birthday gifts Angelo bestowed on Peyton any day - it's HOT.

I have to warn you that the passion, seduction and love making scenes pull you into a wonderful romantic love affair. Great job Mrs. Jackson - you did it again. You delivered love, passion, and promise in a wonderful love story.

Normally Mrs. Jackson Madaris books have mystery and drama twisted into a passionate love story, but it was not in this book - SO WHAT. The love story presented in this book alone was hot enough that you won't miss it - trust me, read it for yourself.

This title three me for a loop.. It wasn't at ball what I thought that it would be about! I enjoyed reading a book that was about something real, the haves and the have nots! Sometimes people with money do fall in love with people from different walks of life. This book showed that special love. Peyton faced her fears and doubts to become e Angelo's wife!
