Elizabeth Stuart, 2nd Countess of Moray. Elizabeth Stewart, 2nd Countess of Moray suo jure (Late 1565 – 18 November 1591), was the daughter of James Stewart, 1st Earl of Moray and Agnes Keith. On 23 January 1580/1581 she married James Stewart, son of the first Lord Doune, and they had five children: Lady Grizel Stewart, married Rt. Hon. Elizabeth George Speare does a wonderful job of not only placing the reader in a working Puritan village in the 17th century but populating her story with compelling characters and leaving the readers with a good message. If it adhered a bit closer to history, it's a story that had the potential for great violence and tragedy, but perhaps due to its young audience, everything turns out happy in the end.
