I enjoy reading stories about romance and the Native Americans. It is a change of pace in that you read about Native Americans of more or less modern day versus your usual stories about native americans of the past. It is also interesting to read that even in modern day America there is still some animosity towards Native americans. But I like to read her stories because even though she writes about modern day Native americans she also includes some of their traditions from years ago. I just like reading her stories about Native americans finding love outside of their people with white people. I believe she writes with some knowledge about the native american lifestyle.

I enjoy her books , she does a good job , in a subtle way of bringing the hard life native Americans have had and in some cases still have.

Ms. Eagle seems to be running out of plots. This was quite short and just as it seemed she might be developing more of the plot she ended it. She has a knack for humor and it's too bad she couldn't find a better story for it. At least she avoided the usual boy meets girl, boy and girl can't be together for some reason, then boy and girl get together again, Which is the reason I very rarely read a romance novel, but I got one of hers a while back by mistake and really enjoyed her humor.

I had hopes this book would be a really good read. It was a bit tedious going on one hand and too quick to tie up ends on the other. The hero was interesting. The heroine was one dimensional. The daughter and father were written well but overshadowed the hero and heroine at times. Sometimes one can get carried away in putting information into a story such as calving process, etc. I wanted a make you feel good love story and this fell short.

I love the western feel to the story line. I cannot wait until your next book comes out. This book just made me want to read the rest if the story

Lily Reardon promised she would visit her father's ranch someday. Thirteen years later, between teaching jobs, she's headed there along with her daughter. Just south of nowhere, they meet the Rocking R, Montana... all that young Iris from Minneapolis wants to know is, does the place have wi-fi?

The ageing rancher Mike Reardon hires a cowboy for necessary help, and Jack McKenzie, training a paint filly, is welcoming but properly not over-friendly. Lily rediscovers her old photos and trophies, from pleasure riding and raising rabbits. Can her daughter settle to a similar life? Jack is trying to find a tactful way of repairing a barn roof without telling the rancher that he's old and infirm. Mike, unsure how to treat a teenager and his daughter, is running a co-op and raising grass-fed beef without drugs.

I enjoyed reading about the ranching life and a natural approach to rearing beef cattle. Lily is a mother herself making her concerned about growth hormones, antibiotics and corn feedlots. Small ranches cannot afford to hire full-time but at certain times of year such as calving the skilled worker is invaluable.

"You bring your own horse, your own gear, your own tools, and you do what you're hired to do the way the boss wants it done."
"But a girl has a baby, she has to become a woman very quickly."

Kathleen Eagle recreates ordinary conversation skilfully. Like real life, not every minute is full of drama, but major changes occur gradually and big decisions have to be made. I enjoyed the developing romance, as well as the backdrop of the debate on grass-fed cattle.

One Less Lonely Cowboy was a good romance. It was sweet and loving story.
Thier was a few love scenes in the story. The plot was simple. This is book is a fast read. Good escape to get lost in.
Jack McKenzie is a cowboy. He does not work for anyone ranch. When different ranches need a extra hand they call him. He was helping Mike a lot more. He kept his horses on Mike's ranch and lived in a horsetrailer for a home. His ex-wife has remarried and is raising his two kids a short distance away.
Lily Reardon is Mike's daughter that he kicked out over 13 years ago when she got pregnant. Now she has lost her job and is bringing her daughter Iris home to the ranch for the first time. Lily is a school teacher and she hopes to at least get to work as a subsitute teacher.
Lily remembers a lot about living on the ranch and pitches in. It is calving time on the ranch so thier is plenty of work to be done.
Lily and Jack hook up pretty fast it seems to me.
I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review from Netgalley.

Iris' plans to work as a substitute teacher until she and Iris can get a place to stay.

Day worker Jack McKenzie works on several of the ranches though recently he is spending most of his time helping his mentor Mike. A divorcee with two kids (Becky and Wade) living with his remarried ex, Jack has heard Mike proudly talk about Lily for years. At the ranch, Lily helps out with the chores; while she and Jack feel an immense attraction though both have doubts because they do not wanting to hurt an ailing Mike.

One Less Lonely Cowboy is an engaging warm romance with a second chance at family underlying premise. The lead couple and her family make for a tender Big Sky contemporary as a small family operation struggles to survive amidst the mega corporations.
