Harlan, who was dressed in his usual black leather pants and open-necked white shirt, preceded the queen mple. Despite his quiet, amiable expression, Thea found him much harder to read than Sven who tended to display his feelings more openly. Sven came in last, scanning the people as he paused at the door. His large hand rested on the shoulder of the queen who stood in front of him. His gaze fell on Thea and she smiled at him. One of his eyebrows rose

Sven Magnusson is stuck on Earth sexually serving his queen and dealing with a culture where women don't seem to want a man's protection. As he struggles to understand Earth females, the queen encourages him to get laid. Of course, Thea Cooper, the only woman who appeals to him, thinks men are useful for one thing and on a one-night-only basis. Despite their clash of sexual cultures and the fury of their heated erotic encounters, can Sven find a way to convince Thea that she belongs with him on Planet Valhalla? SPOILERS AHEAD:

I liked quite a bit of this book, but I didn't like how the heroine had a certain set of morals and then just seemingly abandons them without the author really showing us why or showing us very much of a transition. I mean, your moral view of the world is a pretty hard thing to change, but in this story it just happens over a couple of days. Thea discovers that Sven has been with the queen and is upset about it. Yet she convinces herself that it's okay. And the book never says that he won't be with the queen or other women after declaring his love and mating with Thea. In her internal dialogue, she asks herself if Valhalla males are no longer with other women after they mate, but we're never told the answer to that. We just get her assumption that this is the case.

And you can't tell me that Thea wouldn't be upset when the queen starts talking to her about Sven and when the king makes her watch while Sven pleasures the queen. But all of a sudden Thea's not supposed to mind because he didn't penetrate the queen?! And he admits that he has had anal sex with the queen, so it's hardly any different. Come on! She supposedly doesn't even get mad when he kisses the queen. To me, the only one who isn't interchangeable in the whole book is the king. It seems like anyone else, including the hero, can just be inserted into a sexual liaison at any time. And this is the fundamental problem I have with relationships like this. If everyone can do everything with everyone else at any time, then what makes their "love" so special with that one person? It's not like Thea was his best friend or he had any special connection with her, so why did he even want to take her as his mate? To me that's a big character motivation problem in the plot.

In the end, it just feels like the two women are just sharing the men, with the queen having a slightly upper hand because, well, she's the queen and she doesn't have to share the king. I don't know about you, but if I had Sven I would want to know that he was MINE, that I was the most important/special woman in his life, and that he couldn't be taken away from me at the whim of some other female. And I'd be pretty pissed if another women wanted to talk about how she knows how great my guy was in bed and how she really liked some of the things he did. The queen doesn't even try to act like it's over and in the past either, which I guess it's not, so . . . . So again, why would the hero and heroine stay together at all?

Secured Mail, Plante Valhalla book 2. Great follow up to Planet Mail, more story and less sex. Loved Sven. Sven Magnusson, chief of security for the royal family and pelasuer server to the Queen. Thea Cooper, is a bodyguard and liason between the royal family and their security forces on Earth. Thea is a ball buster and doesn't know what to make of Sven and the Valhalla males's attitudes towards women. There is a strong attraction between Sven and Thea. Cultural differences leading to misunderstandings, and past hurts on both sides stand in the way. A fun and steamy read, though I wanted to smack them both a few times. Looking forwarded to Captive Mail, Harlan's story.

This book continued to get better and better with each book. I am a fan of Kate Pearce's writing so pretty much anything she writes she writes I love. Her plots, characters flow from one book to the next and pull the reader into the stories. If you haven't read her yet try her you'll love her. But if you're not a fan of a little hot side I'd pass if I was you. lol

I liked this book. It was fun and entertaining. It's the second in the Planet Vallhalla series and worth the read. If you haven't read the first book, read it first. It's not neccessary, but this one flows better if you've already visited it's world. It's got enough steam to keep you fanning yourself, so keep your wine glass full!

Crazy sexy hotness! Sven and Thea are a smokin' hot couple. Their story rivals the yummy in the first book of the series. It just cements my wish that this planet and its people and customs actually existed!!

Valhalla security chief Sven falls for The a who is also on the King's security forces while he is visiting Earth. Numerous misunderstandings occur as earthly and Valhallan sexual customs clash. Very sexy, over 18.
