I loved the story. Have been looking forever for Flint's story. You gotta love a hero who's hard on the outside but soft on the inside.

I read this book first and now I'm trying to find the story of Luke. Flint was a hardened man. His life's work is to find the men who killed his mother and sister-in-law. He had no time for anything else, until he met Garnet. She is redheaded spitfire who could hold her own with wary, stubborn Flint. There are some funny scenes between them such as when Garnet shaves his beard to save his life, and he has the nerve to complain! The scene where she hits him over the head with a skillet cracked me up, even though I did feel a little sorry for Flint. I'm looking forward to reading the other novels in the series and now I'm an Ana Leigh fan. The author also includes some thoughts regarding pregnancy and drinking at the end of the book which I think was a special touch.

Someone had killed Flint's mother and sister-in-law. He had made it his life's mission to find the killer. Garnet wanted to go with him on the trail because she thought he would be safe. He said no, but it didn't stop Garnet. She went anyway. They had their troubles and some of it funny. Garnet even took a skillet to him. It is a fast moving story and I enjoyed it. whole series is addicting. When I finished one, I
couldn't wait to start the next one to see what
else happend. Ana is a great author and knows how
to keep you interested and wanting to read more.
I'm looking forward to her next book in this series.

I've read quite a few of the MacKenzie series and Flint's story is my favorite, followed by Josh's. I liked all the ones I've read except Kitty's, which I couldn't make myself finish. The scene where Garnet explains why she willingly stripped down in front of the Indians was hilarious. They had great chemistry. Would highly reccomend.

I throughly enjoyed this book! I kept finding excuses to put it down, not because it wasn't interesting, just the opposite. I absolutely hated to see it end. The characters, Flint & Garnet, couldn't have been written better. I've read Luke and enjoyed it immensely, but Flint is my favorite because I found this story line involved a lot more adventures. The humor and chemistry betwen these two were fantastic. Now I have to read Cleve next so I can see if it can stand up to Flint. This book is worth every penny I paid for it!
