Thanks for telling us about the problem. The Haunted House That Was Deadly. When four travelers become trapped inside a haunted house, a mischevious demon gives them terrifying visions of their future. A bizarre comedy about a creepy bald man, an alien, a flying saucer, slimy goo, an idiot with a low IQ, and a fat-granny exorcist.

There are real haunted houses spread across America. In support of his new photo book, "13: Hauntingly Beautiful," Lawless has provided us with photos of real-life haunted houses across America. We're talking about the true-blue, creepy-as-can-be haunted houses. The houses where local residents claim they hear voices and where serial killers dumped their victims. The places that carry legends of entire families vanishing into thin air and serve as a backdrop for murders and suicides. Some are actual murder sites, while others are places where corpses have been dumped.

Home Chris Wooding The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray. Before him was a tall picture-house, a triangular construction with a blunted nose that nestled in the V between two converging roads. Bad enough that a large portion of the city was deadly by night, and bad enough that the honest shopkeepers had to hurry back to their homes on the other side of the river before the sun went down; but when the creatures that stalked the streets started roaming beyond the Old Quarter, it was time to take action. Dark and brooding, it loomed over him like the prow of a ship, for he stood at the tip of the V, and it rose three storeys high.

The Haunted House" is a story published in 1859 for the weekly periodical All the Year Round. It was "Conducted by Charles Dickens", with contributions from others. It is a "portmanteau" story, with Dickens writing the opening and closing stories, framing stories by Dickens himself and five other authors: "The Mortals in the House" (Charles Dickens). The Ghost in the Clock Room" (Hesba Stretton). The Ghost in the Double Room" (George Augustus Sala).

This is an interesting book that vacillates between being facile and insightful. There's really not much to the premise of the book.

America's Most Haunted: The Secrets of Famous Paranormal Places. Dickey takes an erudite tour of haunted America and tells us repeatedly that the meaning of ghost stories lies not in what they claim about the occult but in what they inadvertently say about the anxieties and prejudices of the teller and the larger society. His analytical and reportorial talents are evident. This is an interesting book that vacillates between being facile and insightful. It's just catalog of ghost stories from across the country.

The haunted house and night terrors. This is a true scary story about a supposedly haunted house. One night they heard about this haunted house that was about twenty miles away, in the tiny hamlet of Lakeview. They were intrigued, so they got directions to the house and made the drive to find it. They had no trouble finding the old house. It was on a dirt road, about a half mile off the paved rural highway. The boys were laughing and jovial, not at all scared by the prospects of a haunted house. When they first saw the house, they were rather disappointed.

In ghostlore, a haunted house or ghost house is a house or other building often perceived as being inhabited by disembodied spirits of the deceased who may have been former residents or were familiar with the property. Parapsychologists attribute haunting to the spirits of the dead and the effect of violent or tragic events in the building's past such as murder, accidental death, or suicide.

The Haunted House That Was Deadly is a mixture of the gothic, screwball farce, and the monster movie genre of the 1950s. Bob Hule, Lucy Bigg, Dwight Gune, and Gretchen Tidy are riding a Greyhound bus back to their hometown of Loaferville. Due to an unexpected event they are forced to leave the bus and enter a mysterious house. Strange things occur including visitations of two demons named Firehead and Deadly, a mysterious little man, a Hairbaggen Beast from another planet, and the frequent use of sticky slimy white alien goo!

If you have ever been in love, had undying faith in something or just a dedicated pot smoker (possibly all three?) you'll identify with one of the main characters in The Haunted House That Was Deadly, by Chris Lindsay.

It's about four people faced with an impossible task of surviving a bus crash and watching the driver's head go through the windshield (and it might have actually improved his face), then stumbling upon an abandoned mansion with no working phone, and are awaited by a sinister demon and a villainous alien, both with separate agendas and only there together because of a miscommunication about the availability of the house. Through it all, Bob insists his love for Lucy is real while she resists him, Gretchen maintains a steady and powerful faith to the Lord, and Dwight...well Dwight smokes weed every chance he gets and winds up getting his finger glued to his bottom lip with alien goo.

Bob, Lucy and Dwight are individually presented the rest of their lives from Deadly, the demon supposedly there on holiday, but defies orders precluding him to play with some poor lost souls' heads. The kids are scared but they survive and then escape the clutches of a weird little alien named Hugo, who is the nephew of Dr. Jack of other Lindsay works and owner of the house. Hugo is accompanied by a Harbaggen, which is a big, hairy, scary Bigfoot meets Chewbacca kind of monster that has the ability to rubber cement things with his finger. What can save Dwight from this seemingly unstoppable foe? Get the book and find out.

True to Lindsay form, Haunted House is quick paced, funny and enjoyable to read more than once. The focus of Bob and Lucy's relationship along with Dwight's appetite for getting high carry the story. But Gretchen makes it good. She is a terrific supporting character whose fate puts her on the same bus with a trio of friends who are self obsessed and naïve of their own lives. She provides stability to a story filled with instable people (and demons).

I must admit that the beginning of this third work in the series had me worried that Mr Lindsay might have lost his momentum. Fortunately, once the main setting was reached, it picked up and continued on the fantastic pace set by the first two works. The return of many favored characters is enhanced by the introduction of the new antagonists and the counter culture themes add a bit of spice to the Loaferville populace. This new element refreshes the storylines of the characters in an intriguing, yet naughty sort of way. While not my favorite of the three works by Chris Lindsay that I've read, I have still enjoyed this work immensely, each time that I've read it.

I found this book wonderfully creative and hilarious. At times I was caught off guard and I found myself laughing out loud. I would love to see this performed live on stage.

A uncommon group of characters are thrust into an uncommon adventure which can only lead to uncommon results! The storyline is a rollercoaster of unexpected mini-plots, but it never deviates from the main story. I was always wondering where the ride was going to carry me.

Cleverly written and a delight to read. Highly Recommended

Chris Lindsay has created a humourous piece of fiction by poking fun at and successfully putting together under one roof a strange mix of characters that include demons, aliens, religious zaealots and pot-smokers. There's something for everyone in this play which is simply out of this world.
Sorryyy
Great book, lots of colourful characters and situations that make you say "what the @#$#?" Funny and witty, a book for someone who is looking for an entertaining read.
