Some of the men whispered together in corners, while others scowled at them in distrust -- and grew unruly and soon were ripe for mutiny. To make matters worse, the wines and liquors aboard were made too free . . . and before long the cutthroats were in a debauch that threatened to last as long as the rum! Within a week one man was buried and another lay in his bunk cut to ribbons.

This is a better novel than I can write. That's why it gets two stars. I blew through this book in about two hours (with disbelief completely suspended throughout) and was left more bewildered than amused. The book follows a standard pulp fiction first person narrative of an unextrodinary protagonist put through extraordinary circumstance, and was just too cliche to really dig. The author has some talents and I would like to read his next work to follow his progress, though I hope he ditches this character.

Did not read this but want to clear it from the list. It might be good. I lost interest.

With references to pirate treasure from the past, this story brings adventurers from the time of the 1920s into a search for that treasure.
It's not all yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
There is treachery, dishonesty, camaradarie, sailing ships, pirates, lust for gold, nasty characters, adventure in foreign ports, well, lots more great stuff awaits you in this tale.
Go for it!

Not his best but a good never the less. I wasn't sure how many times the hero could win over the villain as the villain just kept coming back. The answer... you will just have to read about it.

Pretty good story. If your into this kind of story you will probably like it.

I was stationed in panama for a few years and wanted to read something about the place, the price is perfect for this book. Started a few times but have not finished.
