This book was "recommended" for an elective course in particle physics . Quantum Chromodynamics (Chapter 10) and Electro-Weak Theory (11 and 12) provide wealth of detail.
This book was "recommended" for an elective course in particle physics for PhD students at OSU. Having little to no experience in the field (besides simple modern physics topics like bubble chamber examples and time-dilated lifetimes of particles, et. I was hoping that I would get a better introduction. For those who are more experienced in particle physics, I would expect that this book is a good reference, though I cannot say that for sure because I am not a member of such a group. I also purchased the book of solutions to problems in this book.

Particle physics (also known as high energy physics) is a branch of physics that studies the nature of the particles that constitute matter and radiation. Although the word particle can refer to various types of very small objects (. protons, gas particles, or even household dust), particle physics usually investigates the irreducibly smallest detectable particles and the fundamental interactions necessary to explain their behaviour
