In this sequel to 'Bug Muldoon', about a beetle detective told in a Raymond Chandler-type narrative, Bug's latest case is to find out who the killer in the rain is - and this means a treacherous trip to the House, where the Humans live. No insect in their right mind would go there - except Bug. Get A Copy. Shipton NAILS the noir voice and the story is compelling as hell. I first read this as a child and then again as an adult, and it works on both levels - there's noir-related stuff that you'll only pick up on as an adult but the narrative is strong enough for children to be able to read it as a straightforward adventure. My seven year old son loves Bug Muldoon and it has proved to be a key weapon in persuading him that books can provide entertainment and adventure every bit as rewarding as Nintendo Wii (yes, I know). Paul Shipton has managed to make a mountain out of a molehill which for a change is excellent.
