Geology of radon in the United States Linda C. S. Gundersen, R. Randall Schumann, James K. Otton . The following is a summary of the methodology and findings of this study, as well as an introduction to the geology of radon. Otton, Russell F. Dubiel, Douglass E. Owen, and Kendell A. Dickinson . Geological Survey, Box 25046, Federal Center, MS-939, Denver, Colorado 80225 ABSTRACT More than one-third of the United States is estimated to have high geologic radon potential. A high radon potential area is defined as an area in which the average indoor radon screening measurement is expected to be 4 pCi/L or greater.

Though the geology of earth's rare geothermal environments and their associated microbial communities are intensely studied, less scientific attention has focused on their potential effects through the ivore trophic chain. In many other chapters of this book, we address the ecological impacts of this unique geology to the ecology of the large mammals that live within the caldera, primarily through the effects of geothermal heat on snow pack.

This booklet presents important geological information about radon; how it forms, the kinds of rocks and soils it comes from, and how it moves through the ground or is carried by water into buildings

This booklet presents important geological information about radon; how it forms, the kinds of rocks and soils it comes from, and how it moves through the ground or is carried by water into buildings. Also this booklet explains the way geologists estimate the radon potential of an area, be it a State, a county, or your neighborhood. Finally it tells where you can get more information about radon.

The book addresses how to measure radon, covers geological field study techniques, and presents techniques for assessing radon potential. The Geology and Geochemistry of Soils in Boyertown and Easton Pennsylvania. The geochemical and hydrological studies of ground water cover such areas as health effects and radionuclides in geology. Techniques for measuring radon in ground water are also provided. Field Studies of Radon in Rocks, Soils, and Water is an excellent practical guide for geologists, geochemists, ground water professionals, and geophysicists interested in radon. 51. Geology of the Easton study area located in the northeast portion.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is a scientific organization created in 1879, and is part of the U.S. government. Their scientists explore our environment and ecosystems, to determine the natural dangers we are facing. The agency has over 10,000 employees that collect, monitor, and analyze data so that they have a better understanding of our problems. The USGS is dedicated to provide reliable, investigated information to enhance and protect our quality of life. This is one of their circulars.
