Poor paper quality of book is very disappointing - looks like a cheap copy.
Story just not very appealing to most children. Maybe if you are nostalgic adult this would work - but for children - NOOOO

I grew up in Taiwan reading these books over and over as a child. My sister enjoyed it so much that she named her child Emil.
I am not sure why they are not popular in the U.S... It's definitely a fun read for both adults and kids.

The dear little Emil always happens to get into mischief whether he wants it or not. Even if he looks like an angel and he always means well - well most of the time, anyway. Emil is 5 years old and lives with his sister and parents at a small farm in Sweden about 100 years ago. Astrid Lindgren, the writer, is the most famous of all Swedish children's writers.
