Cogito, ergo sum is a Latin philosophical proposition by René Descartes usually translated into English as "I think, therefore I am". The phrase originally appeared in French as je pense, donc je suis in his Discourse on the Method, so as to reach a wider audience than Latin would have allowed. It appeared in Latin in his later Principles of Philosophy.

The book of. Illusions. Man has not one and the same life. ly book ever written on Hector Mann, it probably made sense that someone would think I’d jump at the chance to believe he was still alive. But I wasn’t in the mood to jump. Or at least I didn’t think I was. He has many lives, placed end to end, and that is the cause of his misery. My book had been born out of a great sorrow, and now that the book was behind me, the sorrow was still there. Writing about comedy had been no more than a pretext, an odd form of medicine that I had swallowed every day for over a year on the off chance that it would dull the pain inside me. To some extent, it did.

Comments to eBook Cogito? (I Think?)

Absolutely loved it. Enjoyable reading that can either be done in one sitting or a few chapters at a time. The book is very insightful and people of all ages will be able to relate to many of the chapters. A great holiday gift for those you love.

There are so many chapters that I loved, I can't name them all. However, here are a few:

Chapter Five - And the Beat Goes On?

Chapter Ten - To the Faint of Heart

Chapter Seventeen - From Mouth of Babes

Chapter Twenty-Five - There's Nothing Like a Good Book

Chapter Thirty - You Got A Friend?

Chapter Forty-Eight - I'll Miss You, Johnny

Chapter Fifty-Seven - The Family That Eats Together...

Chapter Sixty-One - Losing is everything?

Chapter Sixty-Seven - This Call May Be Hazardous...

Chapter Eighty-Six - It's Not My Fault

Chapter Ninety-Seven "To Dad...Full Credit...For Everything", was the chapter in Cogito? that touched me more then any other chapter. A moving tribute to the author's dad and one I can relate to as I lost my father a year ago.

Overall, it is a book that is light (and humorous) reading, but also makes you deeply think. How many books can do that?

Remember the feeling of putting on a comfortable old pair of shoes? There is that feeling of something familiar and comfortable with this book. You know what the author is talking about...and you want to hang on to see where he is going.

For example, feel the first sneeze of the day (chapter 28), appreciate how laughter makes us different (chapter 32), what's the value of losing? (chapter 61), or reach into about 85 other topics you or I or almost anyone can relate to.

You'll find yourself in sync, heartbeat to heartbeat, in one chapter, pushed to defend your opinion in the next.

My advise, take this book nice and slow. Enjoy the ride. Savor the flavor.

Paul Faba puts into words what no author has before, and he does it with playful reflection. If you have ever wondered why you think the things you do, or have ever found yourself saying, "What if...", then Cogito is the book for you. This book takes the reader along a journey of questioning, which ultimately leads the reader to understand that the answers in life are not answers...they are questions!
X-MEN
A thought-provoking, humorous window into the world of philosophy. It's not a book that you easily set aside. You will want to refer to it over and over.

By far the most enjoyable read I have had. It's clever, smart, but most of all wonderful. An absolute must for people of all ages.
