Novel You Never Read. You are a teenage girl. I read No More Trains to Tottenville, by Hope Campbell, when I was a preteen, and I loved it. It was a story, along with The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, and Bless the Beasts and Children, that I never forgot. I vaguely remember I am the Cheese and The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man in the Moon Marigolds, The Pigman, Flowers for Algernon, Bell, Book, and Candle, and The Darkness is Rising.
What a delight it was to read this brilliant telling of the Kindertransport, a novel threaded with compassion, hope and love. Thank you, Meg Waite Clayton for reminding us of what can happen when good people conspire against evil. - -Heather Morris, bestselling author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz).
