Good overview of neural computing, doesn't assume thick domain knowledge. Dated but still very usable. This book is a great introduction to the subject of Neural Networks for someone with no background in the field
Good overview of neural computing, doesn't assume thick domain knowledge. A little bit of math but nothing blocking. This book is a great introduction to the subject of Neural Networks for someone with no background in the field. The book clearly presents a wide range of techniques for neural computing with sections dedicated to the background of the technique, algorithms for implementing the technique, the mathematics behind the algorithms, and examples where such networks have been used.

Neural computing started in 1943 with the publication of a startling result by the American scientists Warren McCulloch and Walter Pitts. An important book on the subject with emphasis on information processing aspects and also on networks composed of logical (Boolean) neurons. 2. R. Beale and T. Neural computing : an introduction 1. Artificial intelligence I. Title 1.
Section . is based on material from Perceptrons by M hlinsky and S Papert, pp 164-9, 0 1 9 6 9 M I T Press. These people all bring a different background to the area, and one of the aims of this book is to provide a common ground from which new developments can grow.
An ideal text for undergraduate students of neural networks.
The authors reflect these changes by updating existing material and introducing material on the new developments-new topics covered include neurocontrol, pattern analysis and dynamic systems. An ideal text for undergraduate students of neural networks.
Introduction to Neural Computing book. It includes new material on recent developments in neural networks, such as neurocontrol, pattern analysis, updated material on multi-layer perceptrons and dynamic systems.

Neural Computing - An Introduction. Neural Computing is easy on the eye with a good layout and use of graphical icons to draw attention to mathematical proofs, algorithms (in clear format, which would lend itself to computer implementation), and summary sections. Denise Gorse, Times Higher Education Supplement. I was most impressed with the quality of this book. hard pressed to bea. -David Williams, The Australian Computer Journal. It is clear that any introductory book must explain what the leaders of the current revival have done.
