This is such an important document/! Bill Moyers was the first I remember to alert us to the concept of the USA's being run over by and run by a shadow government, recently described by Mike Lofgren in The Deep State. One person found this helpful. Of course there are plenty of idiots that have no idea of US government coups, the toppling of democratic elected governments, Reagan's treasonous actions, war crimes and lies that followed, so this thin book might entice a non-reader to pick up and learn something.
WILLIAM LYON MACKENZIE KING It’s what we prevent, rather than what we do in government that counts most, once said Mackenzie King, the great prime minister of the twentieth century in Canada. A philosophy that led him through twenty-two strong years in the office of the Prime Minister of Canada. King, the grandson of William Lyon Mackenzie (the leader of the great rebellion in upper Canada in 1837), who’s long standing goal in life was to be Prime Minister, worked hard at his job, and did his job for the people of Canada

In political science, a constitutional crisis is a problem or conflict in the function of a government that the political constitution or other fundamental governing law is perceived to be unable to resolve. There are several variations to this definition. For instance, one describes it as the crisis that arises out of the failure, or at least a strong risk of failure, of a constitution to perform its central functions. The crisis may arise from a variety of possible causes.
SCOTT ARMSTRONG: Wait a minute. BILL MOYERS: Oliver North had been the secret government's chronic liar, long on zeal for his president and the cause. But he was not the only zealot, not the only one to deceive. This isn't the way the Constitution was set up. This isn't what the Founding Fathers intended. MORTON HALPERIN: You start out breaking foreign laws - since most countries have laws against secretly overthrowing their governments; and then you end up breaking the law at home. The hearings revealed a wholesale policy of secrecy shrouded in lies, of passion cloaked in fiction and deception.

From then until his retirement in 1948, King was prime minister and the dominant personality in Canadian public life
Mackenzie King, as he is usually called, was the son of John King and Isabel Grace Mackenzie, daughter of William Lyon Mackenzie, a leader of the Rebellion of 1837 aimed at establishing independent self-government in Upper Canada. Isabel, born while Mackenzie was in exile after the Rebellion, taught her son from childhood that it was his destiny to vindicate his grandfather. From then until his retirement in 1948, King was prime minister and the dominant personality in Canadian public life. It was his leadership of the country through six years of war and three years of postwar reconstruction that gave King a commanding place in Canadian history.
A Government 9-1-1 - William James McKee, Jr. CONSIDERATIONS. The framers of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were masterful. We are all forever indebted and grateful to them. In attempting to mold a system based upon the original constitution in intent and scope but extending it so as to attempt to forestall future misconduct and intentional flaunting of its effectiveness; new attention is paid to limiting discretionary actions and constraining authority.
