Love can build a bridge. After a tragic accident along the Swan River took the life of his mother, young Jared Conway grew up thinking little of the family he lost. As an adult, he remains without an anchor. With his marriage truly over-despite his attempts at reconciliation with his ex-wife-and his young son far away at boarding school, Jared discovers that his success as a commodities broker has brought him little inner peace. On impulse he suggests to his son, Nicolaus, that they go to Montana over the boy's summer break. Jared's plan is simple: to spend time with his child and to clean out the cabin he has inherited, in order to make a quick sale in the hot real-estate market. But when he gets to the river in Montana, Jared encounters three things that will change his life forever: the forces that have been driving him toward empty success, love for a spiritually grounded ceramist named Eden Powell, and the bridge that will finally lead him home. The Bridge, a novel written by Lisa T. Bergren, has a double meaning. Life ends and begins again at the bridge at Swan Lake. This was a beautiful love story between a deeply wounded man and a deeply wounded woman. Both were hurt, but he had never dealt with all his fears. She is close to The Lord, but still needed more inner healing to untangle deep-seated incompetence eating up her insides. A tender eight-year-old boy works innocently on the bridge he wants built.
I loved being at Swan Lake, Montana during a very peaceful summer where so many happy things took place in this book. Every spirit was blessed by an awakening from God. This was a great book.

I very much enjoyed this book, for multiple reasons. First, I liked the main characters (Jared and Eden) and found their characters and flaws to be believable. Second, I loved the location. Lisa did a good job painting pictures with her words to set the tone/mood of her story. And third, I loved how she interwove the past and present within the main story. Although it was a little confusing at first, once I understood how she was presenting her story, I found that it made the story more interesting. Bottom line, this was a good read with a good story...and an inspirational message of forgiveness and hope.

The setting on a beautiful lake in Montana was perfect to build characters of this tender romance story. It has just the right amount of faith sprinkled througout the story. What a blessing to read a story where the male character sees the importance of being a good dad. The writting is refreshing and wonderful! I can't wait for the next Lisa T. Bergren story!!!!

This is my first book by Lisa T. Bergren, but it will not be my last. Wonderful characters and the setting was breathtaking. I felt I was on summer vacation with them. Just what I needed this summer!

I so enjoyed this book!
From the very first page I felt like I was right beside the characters feeling the warmth of the sun, feeling the breeze off the lake and enjoying the tranquility of nature. I love the way Lisa pulls you into the lives of the characters and makes you root for them to trust their hearts, turn their fears over to God and to love again.
This is the first of many of Lisa's books that I'm sure I'm going to love!
It was okay. I would sometimes get lost switching back and forth between time. Still it was interesting and worth reading.
