Peace Begins with You book. The major turnoff for me is that this book is thoroughly didactic - Robert R. Ingpen is one of my favourite illustrators and this is the main reason I'd picked up a copy of this book from a little free library. As a children's picture book, Peace Begins with You is a comprehensive book on peace. It talks about inner peace, world peace, big conflicts, small conflicts, mediators, etc. It talks about needs and wants and how conflicts arise.
The author, Katherine Scholes, begins the story at a personal level by talking about how peace feels in our everyday lives. The choices we make affect not only us as individuals, but also the world as a whole.

Yes, this book is for both children and grown-ups who are interested in the subject of Peace. The book is to the point and precise in explaining how conflict comes about and how it is possible to resolve it and bring about peace. It is a very simple and still really profound book
Yes, this book is for both children and grown-ups who are interested in the subject of Peace. It is a very simple and still really profound book. If you are using it for very young children, you will have to further illustrate the points that are made by the author but this book is excellent in explaining in detail how conflict happens and teaching exactly what needs to be done to achieve peace.
