I loved this when I was little Audrey Wood studied art and drama at the Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock, Arkansas

I loved this when I was little. When the dragon refuses to kidnap the princess, they instead decide to switch places, with the dragon playing the part of the princess, and the princess living wild in a cave. Obviously no-one even notices the switch, they are just glad that their princess is suddenly so well behaved. Audrey Wood studied art and drama at the Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. She has owned an operated a book and import store, taught chldren's drama and art, and traveled throughout Mexico and Guatemala studying Indian folk art.

The Princess and the Dragon is beautifully illustrated with big, funny pictures. The book helps you realise that people are not always like you imagine them to be. The Princess was quite naughty and not very gentle but she met a dragon who was very gentle and liked ballet! So they change roles with hilarious results. Tracey Betty Bookmark). There’s not a simpering princess or fire-breathing dragon to be seen anywhere in The Princess and the Dragon

This nasty princess isnt who everybody thinks she should be, neither is the sweet, well mannered dragon! They trade places and have ball. It teaches that you can be yourself and be happy, also gives some insight into others views.

Her behavior is dreadful. Her idea of a good time is making rude faces, slurping out of a bowl, being messy and dirty, and playing tricks on her protectors. This very funny book lets children look at this kind of behavior and see how unacceptable it is. The Princess meets a charming dragon who wants to be a princess, so they trade places

This is the story of a non-traditional princess who hates doing all "princessly" things and a non-traditional dragon who hates doing all "dragonly" things. They realize that they will be much happier if they trade places, so the dragon lives in the castle and is a perfect princess, and the princess lives in the cave and terrorizes the villagers.

I got this book because I work in speech pathology and had a speech student who needed to work on using "she" for all female beings. He also loved dragons, sword fighting, and castles. He really enjoyed this story, and we had fun talking about the characters, what could happen next, and whether the characters were making good choices. It doesn't have a lot of words, the pictures provide a lot of material for discussion, and the book is short enough for 5-10 min of reading and talking. Definitely added it to my list of options for therapy.

My younger daughter got this book years ago when she was little. In a move last year, I forgot it was hers and gave it away. Even though she is 20, she missed it and complained about me giving it away, so I bought it from Amazon. This book is bigger than our old one and was brand new.

Anyway, it is a cute story, and apparently so appealing to children that they continue to like it after they have grown up.

This is a very cute little story that teaches children about defying stereotypes and being happy as you are. Most of my kids thoroughly enjoy it and I teach this book every year now.

I thought this would be a story either about developing good manners or being more than just a "princess," But instead, the princess has bad manners and becomes the "dragon" in order to carry on with her bad manners. Not sure what the moral of the story is supposed to be.

Cute story with a fun ending

Best book a kid could ask for, I grew up with this book and I LOOOVE it, this is a nice paperback reprint, its a little different but I'm thrilled to have it for my little girl. I wish it were a board book but the pages are nice and thick, better than a typical soft page book so I can't complain.

My mom brought home this book for me and my sister when we were little. I purchased it for my 4 year old for Christmas. All about being what you want to be and a princess isn't always proper and dragons aren't always mean!
My favorite book from childhood, got it to show my daughter. She also loves it. I thought it was a mini book but showed up full size, great!
