In Rwanda trouble began brewing early between the Tutsi and Hutu. Previously, Germany had colonized Rwanda but it lost possession of it during World War I; it then came under the control of Belgium. During this time period, Hutu and Tutsi tensions heightened, which led to a series of violent events and sparked a Hutu uprising in which hundreds of Tutsi were killed according to the article Rwanda: A Brief History of the Country by the United Nations, an international organization whose goal is to maintain peace around the world.
Parker is an officer of the United States Army who serves as the primary character and narrator of the American campaign in World in Conflict. He makes appearances in pre-mission cutscenes.
