My 2 y.o. LOVES this book! It not a toddler book but rather for school age kids, but we love it anyway. The repetition of the song is just fun to say. My little one enjoys the pictures of the baby animals and the detail everywhere in the illustrations. Where the animals are found within the rainforest ecosystem is scientifically accurate but the number of babies each animals has is way off; so if you are using this to teach be sure to go over the last two pages that tell the real numbers of babies each creature has. This is one book I don't dread reading over and over again. It is a feast for the eyes.So amazing to look at that sometimes we just look at the pictures.

Wonderful.

I don't sing the song - I just read the book and its great. The book is wonderfully illustrated and introduces a lot of interesting animals that can be studied in a unit on the jungle. I think the artist needs to improve a bit on her mammals, but that just might be the medium she is using - its difficult to make fur out of clay or plastic. However, all the other animals were spot on extremely good. Overall, I am very happy that I found this book.

Every teacher needs this book. It's not just for young grades who are learning to count, but for older grades who are learning about organisms, habitats, and the animal kingdom!! It is so chalk full of information! The opportunities to use it in the classroom abound! The illustrations are amazing! The song is wonderful, and easy for children to learn, not to mention that it is a melody that many children already know. The best buy!

I am a teacher and I purchased this book to read to my students during rainforest week. I love the illustrations. The rhyming is entertaining and the counting is great for students to learn their numbers. I strongly recommend this book I love to read it to my students. I only wish it was a hard cover so that it would last longer.

Told my daughter all the additional sounds & music she can add when reading the story to her children. She is the best story reader I know. She recorded her rendition of "How to Eat Fried Worms" for her little sister for her birthday when she was in jr. hi.

This is a very popular book with our music class and my grand kids. Beautifully illustrated and fun to sing as well as to read. Love the rhythm.
We check out books free at the library and then any favorites from that we buy at Amazon. I worried the large animal names used might be confusing for my 2 year old but nope, she just loved the whole book and now she is learning to better recognize certain animal species because the book while playing on a traditional nursery rhyme that uses general terms like "duck" or "frog" THIS book uses specific names within each species. I enjoyed reading it over and over just as much as my daughter did! The illustrations are very nicely done, ever page is bursting with jungle color!
