Kids Like Me...Learn ABCs includes appealing photos of children with Down syndrome on a crisp white background, surrounded by colorful borders. Each child holds or interacts with an object that represents a letter of the alphabet. Surrounding images also show that letter in sign language, upper and lower case type, and an illustration of the featured object.

All children will enjoy this book, but children with Down syndrome will delight in seeing other kids just like them, having fun and learning about their ABCs.

Every page of this book has a picture of a child with down syndrome holding, playing with, eating, etc something that has to do with that letter of the alphabet. The main focus on the page is the child, but on the side of the page in smaller outlined boxes it has the letter, the ASL sign for that letter, and the object that starts with that letter. Some of the children are easily indentifiable as having down syndrome and some are not, but all of them are so cute! Our baby boy was born with down syndrome and we are trying to teach him (while learning with him) ASL. My older children (7 and 4) absolutely love this book! I have known the ASL alphabet for years, but this is really helping my kids to learn it and they love to sing the ABC song to their baby brother and now sign along with it. Definitely a big hit in this house!

This is the 3rd book I have purchased featuring children with Down Syndrome. The first two, while good in concept, featured average to poor quality photographs, which really detracted from the book. This book (Kids Like Me...) has terrific photos, is much more professional looking -- and my 2 yr old with Down Syndrome LOVES it. She routinely picks it up & brings it to me, so that we can look at it together. I love that it features the signs for each letter of the alphabet. We are devotees of Signing Time, and this book is a great complement to that dvd series (much better, in my opinion, than the Signing Time books). My daughter grasps concept much easier when I say things and sign them, and I'm learning that the alphabet is no exception. This book has been a useful resource for both of us and I recommend it wholeheartedly to any family of a child with Down Syndrome.

I liked the book, and I'm glad I was able to give it to my brother, who has Down Syndrome! However; my only issue was the book is a baby book and it's tiny and wood. It doesn't say that in the description. So, I thought it would've been larger, if I had known it was a baby book, I probably would've still ordered it. But, it would've been nice to know.

My 4 year old daughter loves this book. It's the book she always asks for when we leave the house or she has down time to sit with a book. The pictures are not cluttered or busy, so they are fun to look at but also easy to focus on what is represented by each letter and the expressions of the kids. Lots of great pictures! I love having books in the house that include kids who look like my daughter.

Teaches without being preachy about diversity and acceptance and everybody is who we all are. All children will benefit from this toddler board book with colorful pictures of children who happen to have identified special needs.

I have an incredible grandson that has Down Syndrome. This book has taken up an important place in his library. (He really likes "j"… maybe it is the pretty girl!)

Nice book. I do like my I Like Berries, Do You book better though. The photos in this book were not as interactive.
