No one but Garrison Keillor could have written such a hysterically inventive story. The cat runs away from home to lead a more glamorous life before finding, in the end, that there's no place like home. A simple story, but wonderfully told with a vocabulary that had me laughing out loud the first TWO times I read it. I bought copies as gifts for adult friends. The illustrations are sublime. My 3-year-old grandson loves the story as well and likes to find all matter of interesting details in the illustrations. He loves the musical lyricism of the prose. A classic story told in a humorous, intelligent new way.

A cat learns that the High Life of a jet-setter is not really for her.

This is obviously a fairly silly book for kids. But I love the turns of phrase, the entire concept- and the illustrations are just wonderful! It also tyies in with Keillor's "Songs of the cat" CD, which has been a longtime favorite around here, especially for our daughter as she was growing.

I'm giving both to a friend's kid for Christmas- he loves cats, but his dad's unfortunately allergic.

Cute book, great illustrations. It is the book version of the song by Garrison Keillor of the same name.

My daughter-in - law had mentioned that "Cat, You Better Come Home", was her favorite book when she was
in fifth grade. She was delighted to receive the copy for Christmas. I also gave one to our pastor who had
given us a stray kitten as he enjoys Garrison Keillor and the last illustration contains the book, "Practical
Cats" by T.S. Elliot (a favorite poet of his). I had never read the book before, but also got a copy for
my self. The story, told in poetry, and the large detailed illustrations make this a fun book for any cat
lover.

This children's story is funny to read at any age and the illustrations are amazing. This is a must own book, especially if you understand cats!

This book was recommended to me by a friend. He said I should read it to my 6-month old daughter. The art is amazing, but she's still too young to fully appreciate it. The story is somewhat dark and not very cheery for a little kid, but I don't see a problem with that. I still find it enjoyable to read this to my daughter.

Book was excellent quality! Like new. Extremely happy with this purchase!
A little dark, odd pictures. Not what I expected.
