Bonnie Bryant also wrote two spin-off series: Pony Tails, aimed at beginning readers, and Pine Hollow, aimed at teenage readers. The 16 Pony Tails books followed the lives of eight-year-olds May Grover, Corey Takamura, and Jasmine James. Pine Hollow featured Carole, Lisa, Stevie, and their new friends in a series set four years after The Saddle Club. Unlike The Saddle Club, Pine Hollow conformed to a realistic timeline. The 17 books took place over the span of less than a year.

I have to go back to Pine Hollow. I left a library book in my cubby, and I’d better return it today or I might not have a chance. The three girls stood up. We’ll talk to you before you go, Stevie said. Definitely, she agreed. She gave them each a quick hug and headed for the door. Stevie and Carole walked the short distance to Stevie’s house. Where’s the car? Carole asked.

In this book, the Saddle Club finally gets a chance to compete at a major horse show. Carole's doing well, but will mistakes from her past come back to undo everything she's worked so hard for? Callie is receiving unwanted attention from another Pine Hollow rider, but she doesn't know how to tell him to back off without hurting his feelings.

I really wish this series had some positive male characters. They're all either too possessive, or becoming an alcoholic, or just downright creepy. Oh well.

This book was so sad. I cried a lot. Well... Since they havn't put the review up... I WILL! Winning isn't everything-is it? The Colesford Horse Show has finally arrived. It's a chance for Carole Hanson to show off all the hard work she's done with her favorite horse, Samson. Carole is sure they can ride with the best. That's why she's made the decision to sell her own horse. She knows that she and Samson have a glorious future together-they're headed straight to the winner's circle. Stevie Lake and her horse, Belle, are also competing, but Stevie just wants to enjoy the experience. Of course, a blue ribbon would be nice.... Meanwhile, Lisa Atwood, is confronting a crisis in her life that may mean saying good-bye to one of her oldest loves. Can Lisa face the future after losing so much? There's a lot at stake, but everyone is riding to win. This book is so sad! I won't tell you what happens, but let me just say that the love Lisa looses is NOT Alex. And Mr. Hanson finds out something Carole did that wasn't so great in school

Oh this book was so sad! I swear i started crying when thefamous rider said for the second time he had made a good decision. Atfirst I thought he was the one who had owned him before, but it was so sad. I finally collected myself and finished reading and when I finally finished I sat for like an hour crying. It was so sad! But I think Carole is finally getting the respect she deserves. If only she can get Colonel Hanson to lighten up.... Only the next book will see! Can't wait to get it!

This is by far the best Pine Hollow book yet. Even though it is fiction, the characters go through the same realistic ordeals that occur in real life. The plot is creative with many twists and turns but never unrealistic. Riding to Win reveals that Carole, Lisa and Stevie aren't invincible and will have to face some challenges. The reactions of the characters are right on target and we'll see in the future how they respond and handle the hurdles placed before them. Riding to Win is full of surprises and is a definite page turner. For those of you who were missing Ms. Bryant's mention of the horses, then you'll love this book which has more about horses in it than any of the other Pine Hollow books (probably all the Pine Hollow books combined.) I definitely love the direction Ms. Bryant is taking this series and feel that the books can only improve. I whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone, with full confidence that you'll feel your money was well spent. The many challenges that have been bestowed upon Lisa, Carole and Stevie should make for many interesting books to come.

I loved this book to pieces. It was wonderful. I cried when poor Prancer died.Poor Baby!I felt SOOOOO sorry for Lisa. Now she'll never get a horse of her own.I think Col. Hanson needs to lighten up a little. He can punish Carole without banning her from Pine Hollow.Plus, she can't do her job. That must be bad for Max not only Carole.Oh well.I still LOVED THIS BOOK! It was SO good.I couldn't put it down.I'm getting anxious to read the next book.Ground Training.I read the synopis for that book and I can't wait to see what happens with Phil,Stevie, and A.J.
P.S. Bonnie Bryant is a wonderful author!

Why is everyone turning ino a creep??????? Cam and A.J. turned into total weirdos, and Stevie,Lisa, and Carole just don't seem to be as into horses as they used to be. I am an avid competitor at horse shows with my mare April Bloom, and I love horses!!! My point? Unlike the former Saddle Clubbers,I am NOT just going to walk out on the wonderful, wonderful world of horses for something as boring as boys!!!! I don't even know why I read this far in this awful series!*Since Bonnie Bryant just moved up to the older Saddle Club, she should start writing about the Pony Tails again in the books;they would be the same age as the old Saddle Club now. Good Luck,Ms.Bryant!!

I thought this book was a great book. But the only thing i didnt like about it is how everything fell apart at the end. It wasnt a surprise that carol won at the show but i think she should have gotten to keep Samson. I think that the prancer thing should NOT have happened.Lisa deserves a break. This is one of the better books writen and it tells how not every storie is a fairy Tale.
what's going on?this is a totall mess! it's like one big soap opera. everyone'sso depressed and stuff it's sick.what with Carol grounded A.J. becoming an alcoholic at Sixteen"! get real! and what's with Lisa's mom who do you Know who's 40 year old mom goes out with a 25 year old college student.Thing's would be alot better without so much TRAGEDY! Lisa's mom should be happy lisa's not walking out on her like her fatherdid!
