I already knew some of the basic information about working from home, so about half of the book was no news to me. However, the sources of jobs, websites, etc. by themselves are reason enough to buy the book.
A good many of the jobs hire people not as employees but as consultants--this means you are your own boss. This is not a bad thing--just remember the following: regular employees pay half of their FICA taxes, and their employers pay the other half; if you are your own employer (a consultant) you must pay BOTH halves of that tax. And you have to pay for your own health insurance, of course. So think it over thoroughly before you choose to be a consultant/contractor.
If you want to work out of your home, this is definitely the book for you. If you want to start your own home business, look elsewhere.

I bought this book almost out of desperation... I am a self-admitted introvert and after losing a few jobs due in part to "personality conflicts" with people on the job who dont understand my work style and let it be known that I was not welcome in their little "work cliques", I began to realize that I have to find a way to get out of the "rat race" and work from home where I can have some peace, and leave the silliness and politics behind.

I took some of my unemployment check and invested it in this book...best investment I ever made! From the very beginning the book gave some real, practical advice and tips you can really use...the authors are "straight shooters" and have only included information that is real, relevant, and useful. I have only gotten to chapter 3 and after I put the tips already given to practice (internet search, how to avoid scams, WAH assessment) I was SO IMPRESSED with the results of some real, legit WAH jobs that I can actually do that I just now felt totally obligated to stop my job search and write this review out of appreciation, and to let others know this book has really been helpful to me.

I was feeling depressed about my WAH job search before this book, but after I used some of the tips in the book I felt so much more motivated in my WAH job search to find something that meets my needs and qualifications, that I am working well into the night when I would have usually quit for the evening.

I want to say PLEASE give this book a try if you really want to work from home, and dont skip around! The whole book has great info, so read it from start to finish, and I cant wait to finish this book too. I believe it is VERY EFFECTIVE, especially for people with disabilities or people who really need to work from home.

More than ever, folks grasp for any life raft floating in economically choppy waters, making fodder for scam artists of all kinds. This book is not only a legitimate life ring, it also helps us ward off those eager opportunists.

Seldom have I read a how-to book that contains worthwhile information from beginning to end. A kind of toolkit, the book is logically organized, clearly written in non-technical terms. Although there are no guarantees of employment, everything readers need to have a decent chance at finding meaningful work-at-home is at their fingertips.

Disability ended my rat race career, but my mouth and brain work just fine. I've spent a lot of time looking for telecommuting positions, easily finding scams, but few legit opportunities. Although, through reading Durst and Haaren's ratracerebellion newsletter, I trusted the authors' credentials, I doubted the book would present anything more than warmed over, rehashed advice. I was truly flabbergasted by just how many possibilites there are for someone with a lifetime of skills and a long work history. I can look foward to being useful again. For that, this book is priceless.

This book is a magnificent resource for anyone wanting to work at home. It is specifically written for people who know nothing about the work at home world, and for me personally, it explores things I would not have considered, such as how to cope with being isolated at home, or how to increase productivity. The book also has quotes, hints, and tips from people who are already successful. There are so many legitimate, HELPFUL websites included in all the chapters, and an appendix which lines them all up for you when you are finished reading. If you only buy one work at home book, let it be this one.

I am still in the process of reading this book, but so far I am very impressed with it's approach in helping to find possible paying work that one can do from home. So far I've signed up with a couple of sites and am excited to see if this can possibly help. I am close to retirement age, so do not want to be devoted to work outside the home.

Straight up honest advice on finding your way through the thicket of online offerings. Invaluable links to actual hiring websites make the job seeker's task much easier than constantly going first through aggregators. But for those who still prefer to use those sites, the author offers terrific tips on how to use their info to your best advantage. Altogether a worthwhile addition to the at home worker's bookshelf.

This product is the most thorough product on this topic I have encountered yet. Everything is carefully categorized and detailed so you know exactly what to expect from each website before you even get there. Plus they carefully give suggestions on ways to search your key words more effectively so you get the results needed in faster time.

I would not hesitate recommending this to anyone seeking this type of information.
The book just seemed a bit "hoooky" in some way. Maybe it was just my mood. But I found the returns not to be what the book claimed and it is harder to get the work also. But the whole concept was new to me. It is a good place to start and has some good reference material and some key words to use that catch the attention of readers. For the price it is a good value.
